3. A couple of comments

It is in China's best interest for the US to NOT be destroyed.

If China hadn't shoved its foot in its mouth with that stupid Olympic Manifesto, it would be able to backtrack from the precipice it now finds itself on. Now, it has to live up to helping Russia, even if it perhaps would rather not.

China is a smooth operator, spewing out all the PC rhetoric at the UN while it just seeks to tweak its economic forecast. They are more upset about the QUAD situation than they are about Ukraine.

They will have some explaining to do, but I don't think they really care all that much about the outcomes here.

4. China isn't emotional or irrational. They certainly don't do anything impulsive.

Right now, it's in their best interest to *wink wink* support Russia quietly.

The US is no partner, certainly an adversary of China. Hell, China may be attacking Taiwan next month.
