In Putin's fantasy recreation of the USSR. I visited Soviet Georgia back in the day and the hate towards Russia was strong. I was baffled to see statues of Stalin there, so I asked - and I was told that Stalin was Georgian, not Russian, and he was still honored in Georgia because "he killed so many Russians..."

14. I recall this occurred on the Eve of the 2008 elections AND a major Financial Crises when Georgia

was attacked. Literally we were in both major national events simultaneously.

We can't even deal with crushing a coup or an insurrection attempt/attack on our own nation's capitol before damage was done, nor bring the perps to justice in a timely matter, like arrested on the spot.

Not saying we didn't care, just that other major events occupied our concerns at the time.
