US Democracy 101..

The United States is filled with "PURPLE" voting districts.

Meaning, they swing from red(Repub) to blue(Dems) based on today's political winds.

Elections in these purple swing districts are often decided by 2-5% when determining the electoral victor.

Sadly, Democrats lose so many elections by 1-2% or similar.

Thus proving,

Is 2-5% such a hurdle for our Democratic Party to overcome?

Hell no!

Fellow Democrats, get aggressive in this upcoming midterm election.

Putin, Trump, and the GOP are despotic brothers in arms.

Teach the US people that fact.

Sway the 5% needed to win these purple districts.

Democrats, take the gloves off vs the GQP in the upcoming midterm elections.

I've been politically active for 51 years and have seen us lose too fucking many 2% electoral losses.

So many fine Democrats have lost because of 1%.

Fire up our base and fire up swing voters.

It can be done.

1. Elections seem to be won "at the edge"

by those mysterious "undecided" or "swayable" voters, something I could never understand.

Here are some issues I reposted yesterday in another thread. Hopefully, THEY can SWAY.

2. MESSAGING. Short and sweet. Many of us have bitched about lack of a "message" while RW's are on the offensive and we seem to have been only reacting.

2A DNC Chair Jaime Harrison has cone up with a message we can use. Simple is beautiful. This is accurate AND punchy.

Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison on Wednesday offered a particularly apt summation of Republicans on MSNBC's Morning Joe.

“It is a party built on fraud, fear and fascism," Harrison said. "They don’t deserve to be in power.”

The three Fs—Fraud, Fear, and Fascism—are a perfect alliteration for the GOP. The fact that it could fit on a bumper sticker is also a notable advancement for Democratic messaging.

We could start saying that to anybody who complains about Biden, stolen elections, brainwashing children in schools, killing babies, etc.

It's short and to the point. It doesn't use any bad words. It can be said in a mild tone of voice. I think it's right on point.

3. Fully agree.. short and sweet..

A simple,short message with a punch to it!!

vs the GQP, it should be easy.

So much message material.

They want to ban birth control, abortion is only their starting platform.

They hate marijuana.

They hate gay people.

They are the party of bigoted hatred.

If only our Party would call them out...

Its so plain and simple..

A short message would do it.

4. Yes! I want to expand but resist the urge.

I have been working for quite a while on a piece that I think explains the bizarre and contradictory assholery. The short of it is perceived lack of power (due to demographics and irrelevance plus the extremes of concentration of wealth that are approaching a "near 100%" unsustainable level.)

To counter this, a very unholy alliance (cult-like) of business, politicians and totally perverted religion, all fueled by our national "original sin" of racism.

And they show all signs of cult behavior, much of which is common with addictive behavior. Especially the denial, contradiction and projection. It's entirely to serve the group's existence.

Now, that's the ultra short version, and maybe I should leave it at that. (I think I just crossed that Rubicon!)

I agree with Ibram X Kendi that you can't cure "hearts and minds" but you can gain and hold power in order to legislate protections and freedoms.

I just wanted to explain how IMO, all these things exist. I feel confident that the short explanation above does that. SO I CAN MOVE ON TO THE WINNING PART.
