Hershel Walker keeps telling us all that he is a winner and everyone knows that about him.
And it's very true
The #1 Worst Trade in the History of the NFL (aka Winner of the Worst Trade in NFL History) is the Hershel Walker from Dallas to Minnesota for Draft Picks trade in 1989.
Dallas turned that trade into Super Bowl Championship and Walker played two+ seasons for Minnesota before they sent him packing.
In Minnesota he rushed for just over 2,200 yards in two-and-a-half seasons
The first half season he was with Minnesota they won their division.
The only two full seasons withe Minnesota the team finished 5th (6-10) and 3rd (8-8)
1992-94 he played in Philly. The first year, they finished 2nd in the East (11-5-0) and lost to Dallas in the playoffs.
2nd and 3rd season the Eagles finished 3rd (8-8) and 4th (7-9) -- To be fair, the NFC was a very tough division through much of the 80s and early-to-mid 90s
In 3 seasons with Philly, his rushing went from a little over 1000 yards to to almost 750, to just above 500 yards
In 95 he played for the Giants and rushed for just over 100 yards. The Giants went 5-11 that lone season
96 and 97, his last two seasons saw him back in Dallas, where the winner rushed for under 100 yards each season. (Though in his final season he got over 1000 yards on kick returns). Dallas won the NFC East and lost to Carolina and in 97, they finished 4th (6-10)
In his first three full NFL seasons 86-88, he had one season where rushed over 1000 yards and Dallas went 7-9, 7-8, 3-13
His stats certainly say winner Super Bowls - 0, Seasons rushing over 1000 yards - 2, Seasons played - 12. And he has 61 rushing touchdowns
Those stats certainly say winner... or something

(10,297 posts)Tuberville got elected to the Senate solely for his success at Auburn. And I fully expect Tebow to run for statewide office in Florida soon. SEC Football is the real religion in the South.

(11,666 posts)Nebraska coach Tom Osborne easily won election (83% of the vote) to the House after he retired from coaching. Served three terms then unsuccessfully ran for governor. He then had to win the whole state instead of one of the most Republican districts in the country.

(2,408 posts)I care that trump's pick for US Senator in Georgia... Herschel Walker.. tells us about how he has played Russian Roulette 6 times.
Add the fact that he's a serial domestic abuser who pulled a gun on a girlfriend and threatened to blow her head off. And threatened the police with a shootout.
The guy is violent, unstable, and mentally ill. He needs help, not a seat in the US Senate.
He skipped the debate that was scheduled. He CAN't debate. He can barely talk. In addition to dissociative identity disorder, which he admits to, he's had enough concussions to be a prime candidate for CTE... the footballer's brain damage.
I have no problem with people with mental illnesses.. even running for office, but I can remember when Sen.Eagleton was put out of the running for VP when he admitted to depression and electroshock therapy. Now.... a man like Walker is a more-than-viable candidate. In the Repub party, of course.
I didnt have a coping mechanism anymore, Walker said of his retirement from football. Some might use drinking or drugs to cope, but when I was angry, I would run fast. When I left sports, my anger came back.
Walker said it all came to ahead when voices told him that a delivery driver had disrespected him. He followed the drive with the intent to shoot him, but his fury toward the man dissipated after noticing a religious bumper sticker on the delivery truck. He said he felt like he was losing his mind, so he sought help from a pastor who convinced him to see mental health doctors. The doctors told Walker that he exhibited signs of dissociative identity disorder.
Walker said he initially refused to believe the doctors, but he continued his struggles, frightening family with games of Russian roulette and aggressive behavior."
Now, deal with THIS...
He's actually ahead of Rev. Raphael Warnock, the sitting senator from Georgia, and pastor of the church Martin Luther King preached at.
WTFF is wrong with people.
