(15,600 posts)It would look bad if the news of a UKR cruise missile sank the ship.
Better say it "had a fire" It "sank while being towed"...
Never, never tell the truth. How many russian soldiers are killed?
Why did they pull out of the attack on Kyiv?
It looks bad if you tell the russian people the truth. They are masters of spin.
I wonder if Maxar has some satellite images of the ship being towed? listing b/c of water flooding in? All I know is the powers that be will not tell the truth. YMMV

(76,261 posts)A Russian warship that was damaged by an explosion on Wednesday has sunk, Russia's defence ministry has said.
Moskva, the flagship of Russia's Black Sea fleet, was being towed to port when "stormy seas" caused it to sink, according to a ministry message.
The 510-crew vessel was an important symbolic and military target, and has led Russia's naval assault on Ukraine.
Ukraine claims it struck the warship with its missiles, but Russia has made no mention of an attack.

That ship launched the hypersonic missile that did this to Mariupol.

Lets hope this is Metaphor for how this war will end. That Ukraine frees themselves and liberates Russia.

It's kind of creepy that in a few hours, it will be the 110th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. I just watched The Perfect Storm on HBO Max last night so I was thinking about ships when I woke up.

Apparently her stern started taking in water earlier today. Sad to see this happening.

(15,454 posts)... a hole in it, right? A pretty big hole if the ship is big. How does a fire cause a hole in a metal ship? Now, a missile, yeah.
Does anyone have factual info?

Crunchy Frog
(28,211 posts)That led to a fire and munitions explosion, and eventual sinking in the stormy seas.
It was likely the munitions explosion that caused the worst damage.

(16,454 posts)Buckling can rupture hull plating. There is also the possibility the explosions from the missile or the ammunition cooking off on the ship could have damaged watertight integrity. If no one is aboard to maintain pumps and damage control, Glug Glug Glug.
