Im going to assume that a majority in her state are currently being served very well by the good Senator. Im not questioning the voracity of what a couple of her colleagues said. Im just saying that this Floridian would give up a lot to be represented by a Senator like her.

And, in turn, the Dems should be advertising the ages of a whole bunch of U.S. Republican Senators, and throwing that in the Repubs faces....

Shelby 86
Inhofe 86

(53,438 posts)3. Shelby and Inhofe are retiring. McTurtle is closing in on 9 years younger than Feinstein.
In the entire history of the United States, only ONE House member (Ralph Hall) and only 4 Senators (Theodore Green, Carl Hayden, Robert Byrd, and Strom Thurmond) have served into their 90's.
Feinstein will be only the 5th, Grassley (if he wins) the 6th.
Only Hall in the House and Hayden in the Senate were of sound mind and body when they retired.
Feinstein will probably make it to 2024, but if she tries to run again, she will fail. I am a CA voter, and I simply cannot see her winning a term where, at its end, she would be within months of turning 98yo.
