I'm making the weekly grocery shopping trip today and I wouldn't be surprised to see the produce section looking bare. That is going to be a more effective marketing campaign than paying for billboards and it is also free. Hopefully local media will do the rest with spot reports inside the stores, but that really won't be necessary since anyone who buys their own groceries will already be aware of the shortages.

But we have to make sure that people know whose fault it is. Democrats seem to have some inborn reticence to pointing out what seems obvious to us: "Oh, 'everyone knows' (a lethal phrase) that it's Gov. Abbott's fault that we don't have any fresh fruits and vegetables in the stores." Yeah, I know it and you know it, but for the large swath of our population who doesn't know it, they'll be told by Fox and Republicans and their newspapers and their neighbors that it's all Joe Biden's fault and critical race theory and Democrat incompetence.

We have to be sure people know (and don't tell them just once and figure they'll retain the knowledge) that it's Gov. Abbott and the Republicans who are messing up the supply chain and causing artificial shortages. And then tell them again. And then repeat it for the slowcoaches in the back. And then say it one more time, until someone responds in exasperation, "Yeah, we get it; this is because Gov. Abbott messed up the supply chain." Then say it again for the next circle of people who need this information.
