.@EducationFL just announced they're banning dozens of math textbooks they claim "indoctrinate" students with CRT. They won't tell us what they are or what they say b/c it’s a lie.

#DeSantis has turned our classrooms into political battlefields and this is just the beginning. 👇🏼

and do that math in my head, it's very easy. When I'm the cashier it tends to confuse me. And I'm old, way predate registers that calculate the change.

From the cashier's POV: Take the amount the register says to return in change. Add what the customer just gave you, because you're going to return that too. SO: bill of $4.52, paid $5, register says to return $0.48. Customer hands over $0.02. $0.48 + $0.02 = $0.50, so that's what the cashier returns to the customer. Not that hard, once you explain it.

on March 4, 1987, Chief Judge W. Brevard Hand of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama banned forty-four textbooks from the Alabama public schools. Judge Hand ruled that these texts unconstitutionally established a religion called "secular humanism."
