The Russians have ensured that Ukrainians will never surrender.

However, Russia has proven that no Ukrainian can expect any quarter. Putin's goal is Ukraine devoid of Ukrainians - genocide.

If the Russian bastards are going to kill you if you surrender, it's best to die fighting.

If I was on the front lines in Mariupol, I'd want to die fighting, too. I wouldn't want to be captured and tortured by the Russians.
