Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI think that if Disney will decide to pull stakes and leave Florida for say, S.C
It will be Florida loss. Think of all the tourists money and jobs.
I hope that Disney does raise the possibility.

(3,503 posts)Theyve invested billions upon billions in real estate, infrastructure and so on. You cant just recreate Disney World in another place. My bet is that they tie all this bullshit in court and use their massive media power to oust DeSantis.

2 - SC is redder than FL. You really think they wont pass similar laws
3 - its far more than the parks. They need hotels and airports and infrastructure.
4 - they arent going to plow under the existing parks. If they leave the state
the parks get sold for fire sale prices and a new company takes over.
5- Millions of people then decide whether the name brand matters to them

I'd love to see it happen though, although I wish they'd pick a blue state.

(12,484 posts)Disneyworld outside of Atlanta would be nice... maybe Build it in that park with the Confederate Mountain?
Use demolitions to alter the mountain to show images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Cinderella?

(1,528 posts)Just overwhelm the SOB GOP with stories. They do not even have to lie, just tell the brutal truth.
The could even buy Fox and really beat these people.
What is the old saying about don't pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel. Now that buys tv stations by the network...

(5,502 posts)The irony is that Citizens United let's Disney spend as much as they want against not just DeSantis but against or for anyone they want. Republicans are feeling untouchable right now but we all know how quickly politics can change.

But I'm not sure what exactly the details of this thing is.
