Does it seem that when these weather news guys are reporting bad news they sound very

excited? However when there are bits of good news it seems their wind is taken out of them a bit?
I understand that strong warnings are very important. But as usual, isn't it about keeping viewers
tuned in? Its a big deal that the storm is moving faster than expected!

I was watching CNN for that and the commentator's disappointment when it was discovered that there was no boy in the basket floating around up there, in great danger...

her voice salivated at the thought of her covering a death of a kid, live, and it was clear and evident it disappointed her that the kid was not in danger after all.

sick fucks. the trade attracts the sick fuck ambulance chasers.

the reporter was trying to be very serious when three guys behind him in shorts and no shirts started dancing a jig. It was so rediculous, me and my wife were laughing about how they destroyed his moment.

They get excited when something big happens, especially something 'once in a lifetime'. They get to use all their skills instead of forecasting the same thing over and over day after day.

7. I remember watching a TV weather forecaster in San Diego

His forecast was: Monday 71 and sunny, Tuesday 71 and sunny, Wednesday 71 and sunny, then on Thursday the temperature is going to take a dip, and it's going to be 69 and sunny, Friday 71 and sunny.

I figured that that has to be the most boring job in the world.

4. Fear is like a drug and it's contagious. They're excited because they're overpaid.

This is like entertainment, a movie they're producing, hoping to be part of histroy. So in a way, they're on a trip. Don't go there with them, just get what you need. No one can afford to dismiss the data. But the roller coaster, yes, they're on it and it affects the viewers, as well. TWC was sold some time back and is going into 'entertainment weather' like the other stations went into 'entertainment news.' I'm sure Fox is whipping up the terror as we speak.

The other half is making entertainment out of the suffering in this thing's wake.

And their audience eats it up.
