General Discussion

Of interest to me is the 'less than 30 minutes' to learn how to use a deadly weapon and all the laws that apply to it's use not to mention that it's recognized in more than half the states. Also 'Your Name Here'.
Yeah, so much for responsible gun owners.

(1,779 posts)not all that complicated. The safety rules for firearms are very simple and the list is rather short.
Seems like a silly certificate, but someone offering free safety information regarding firearms sounds like a good thing to me as long as it's accurate.

(1,779 posts)me?
Well, history tells us there are a multitude of reasons. Most involve crimes, gangs, drugs, all the way down to the occasional accidental discharge or negligent handling.
But I'm not sure how the question applies.
Not all people get training. Some people get training and ignore it. Some people get no training at all.
It just seems to me that someone offering free safety training is a good thing. If it's accurate information, how can that be bad?

(14,559 posts)You seem to be in favor of less than a half hour training to get a license to carry a lethal weapon in half of the US.
There seems to be a willingness to pass off 45,000 deaths a year to nebulous reasons yet an acceptance of an email ccl.
Would you care to describe what a reasonable amount of training might look like and how it might be possible that anyone carrying a lethal weapon have such training?

(1,779 posts)well stretched assumption you made, and I fail to see how that materialized.
My only statement was that offering free training, if accurate, is a good thing.
Where did you get the idea that I was promoting this as if it should be the only knowledge required to own or use a firearm?
It's really odd around here; sometimes I say words and some people hear completely different things.
