Repugs are chasing these positions in all states where they're open this year, so they can take over elections in 30+ states.

Bye-Bye, Dems.

Nessel is Attorney General, and seeking re-election; the Democratic Secretary of State is Jocelyn Benson, also seeking re-election, and both have been endorsed by the Democratic party: https://www.mlive.com/politics/2022/04/jocelyn-benson-dana-nessel-others-snag-endorsements-from-the-michigan-democratic-party.html

So what are you saying?

I agree with her that the national party ought to pay some attention to these state offices which will control elections, like the Secretary of State races...

and the state party only made their support official (for her as the attorney general, and for the Secretary of State, for whom she seems to have decide to speak) a couple of weeks ago.

and from what I heard and saw on Ayman show just now, Dems are either suffering from complacency OR ignorance OR some other important deficits.

I propose that you and I (and other DUers) immediately bang on as many important Dem persons doors as possible, and wake them the heck up!

I’ll never forget losing Ohio — and Kerry — because of Blackwell. So many of us busted our butts and it was incredible how he’d used his machinery to suppress the black vote in a Cleveland, saw it first hand talking to people door to door.

we need to know, and informing whomever it is must be done NOW.

Jaime Harrison is Chair.

'The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the governing body of the United States Democratic Party. The committee coordinates strategy to support Democratic Party candidates throughout the country for local, state, and national office, as well as works to establish a "party brand".[3] It organizes the Democratic National Convention held every four years to nominate a candidate for President of the United States and to formulate the party platform. While it provides support for party candidates, it does not have direct authority over elected officials.[4] When a Democrat is president, the White House controls the Committee. According to Boris Heersink, "political scientists have traditionally described the parties’ national committees as inconsequential but impartial service providers."[5][6]

Its chair is elected by the committee. It conducts fundraising to support its activities.[4]'

25. "Dana Nessel sounds the alarm on DNC failing in key 2022 midterm races"

Raw Story

Mohyeldin asked Nessel about the status of her re-election campaign and if she was getting as much support from Democrats as DePerno and Karamo are receiving from Trump.

"I mean, I'm just gonna be honest with you, no, I've never heard anything from the DNC," Nessel said.

"They seem, as usual, to be focused on the federal races," she explained. "And I really do think it's time to stop and understand that without these statewide elected positions — again the secretary of state, and attorney generals in all of these incredibly important swing states — if we're not truly focused on those positions, then it's likely not to matter, when you get to the level where Congress has a say, because the states will not be properly certified to reflect the will of the voters in those prospective states."

"And, of course, because of the Electoral College, it really doesn't matter just how much a candidate wins the popular vote in New York, or California. It's these crucial swing states that make all the difference in our elections," Nessel said.

I can't interpret this; the wouldn't hear from DNC because that's not their job; she would here from DASS who's job is to support Secretaries of State. I'm guessing she's unhappy because DNC isn't doing messaging for the overall election.
