"IDIC" stands for "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations", a phrase series creator Gene Roddenberry used in describing the lack of racial prejudices of the 23rd-century setting, and put it in the show directly as a "Vulcan concept."
Like apparently all corners of the universe these days, Trek has toxic portions of its fandom, often deriding the "wokeness" of Discovery and other "modern Trek" shows.
