(20,998 posts)I lived in Dallas during the Molly Ivins' years. Her wit and wisdom were unmatched.
And when she teamed with Anne Richards... let's just say they were a force of nature!
Missing both Molly and Anne still today. Two of the best things to EVER come out of Texas!

(11,571 posts)I didn't mean "everyone." I meant the country in general. In 1950, 70% of the telephones worldwide in private homes belonged to Americans, and 90% of the world's privately-owned automobiles.
Most Texans bitching about their lot in life were WAY wide of the mark. I was just referencing how well the country was faring generally. I meant no offence.

(47,613 posts)that they should be their own country. The rest of the country just isn't quite good enough for them. I lived there for a short time many years ago and it truly was like a different country in many ways.
