Disappeared media stories?

Not that there aren't enough other things for the media to cover, but did it seem to anyone else that the Kushner-Saudi bribe and the Ginny Thomas Insurrectionist stories disappeared from the public eye pretty damn fast?

But not in the way he meant it. He should be on his knees thanking the press. Not just the RW media. In general the media has trivialized, normalized, and enabled his rude, crude, abhorrent, criminal, and anti-democracy behavior.

That's why there were so many Benghazi investigations, and you couldn't see a Republican being interviewed who didn't throw in a Benghazi reference.

They are doing the same today with Hunter Biden's laptop. Every RW talker and politician is on message.

They know there is no "there" there. The whole point is to keep bringing it up, regardless of validity.

Recall when trump tried to extort Zelinsky. He didn't ask for an investigation into Hunter Biden. He asked for Zelensky to "announce" an investigation. Whether the investigation was real was of no importance. The announcement was enough to build the narrative.

We need to decide on a narrative, give it legs, have consistent messaging, and keep swinging the hammer in the media.

Is the idea to just keep repeating them?

Ginni Thomas texted Meadows her batshit stuff about Jan. 6, and probably talked to her husband about it too.

That’s pretty much the whole story in a sentence. What else is there to know?

No, they aren’t talking about it and, no, Thomas doesn’t have to recuse from Jack Shit if he doesn’t want to. Congress isn’t going to impeach him, so what else is there to say?

I’ve seen this sort of complaint before, and would really like to know what, exactly, is supposed to be in the news about a story like that on a continuing basis. Can you explain that to me?

20. Investigate Ginni and Clarence's formal and informal social
Fri Apr 29, 2022, 07:37 PM
Apr 2022

There is much more to investigate:

Ginni is reported to have numerous associations with "hard right" people and groups. She is the owner of Liberty Consulting. She has Frank Gaffney as a client and then there are those Jan 6th emails to Mark Meadows. I want to know about the content in those emails and the nature of her relationship with "hard right" people and groups. Plus Clarence's failure to recuse on a recent supreme court decision dealing with Jan6 needs further elaboration and response from the Chief Justice Roberts. If you view "hard right" as not "conservative" but essentially "reactionary" i.e. antidemocratic practices/policy, anti-egalitarian policy promoters, immoral libertarian practices of the "southern strategy" variety; then, there is a moral need to expose and punish if needed and/or possible their actions surrounding Jan6 events.

The Press and the House Jud. Com. hopefully will provide more substantive details. I find it a very incomplete story. ymmv

I'm still waiting for people here to realize almost no one outside media and political junkie circles cares about Jan. 6th. I'm not saying what happened isn't important. I'm saying people ran out of care about it some time ago.

Cable news and Twitter just aren't real life.

Go to your local grocery store. Poll people coming out. Ask them if they know anything about the Kushner deal or Ginni Thomas' activities.

Observe the results.

That's where those stories went.

It seems there would something new to report with these stories.

The other side has pundits like Hannity that keep things like Hunter Biden's laptop front and center, even when there is nothing new to report.

Media sleepwalks past Ginni Thomas’ treason
Burying a blockbuster

Eric Boehlert
PressRun Media, March 28, 2022

The Sunday morning talk shows sprinted into “gaffe” patrol mode after President Joe Biden made a 9-word, ad-libbed comment in Poland over the weekend about how Vladimir Putin should not be allowed to stay in power in Russia.

On “Meet the Press,” USA Today’s Susan Page emphasized Biden’s comment was “distracting” and “undisciplined.” The assembled pundits spent nearly ten minutes discussion the story, along with a new NBC poll that was bad news for Biden. (Inflation!)

What was mostly ignored by the round table was the blockbuster story about Virginia (Ginni) Thomas, wife of right-wing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. She had been texting unhinged QAnon-like messages to Trump’s chief of staff after the 2020 election, strategizing and urging that Biden’s victory be overturned, saving America from “the end of Liberty.” The NBC pundits on Sunday spent 45 seconds discussing that story.

Like when Trump was recently caught smuggling boxes of top-secret documents out of the White House, the Beltway press is treating Ginni Thomas’ seditious assault on democracy as a middling story; one that will likely receive little or no new coverage in coming days.

The revelation that Thomas’ plugged-in wife who enjoyed easy access to the Trump White House hoped that “Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators … will be living in barges off GITMO to face military tribunals for sedition,” came just after Republican Senators used QAnon signaling during the Supreme Court confirmation hearing of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. She was smeared as a child pornography apologist.

Continues…

Still have yet to read the NJ police or NJ transportation report on how Mr. Boehlert died in a “bike-train accident.”
