Aaron von Ehlinger, a Republican politician from Idaho, was just convicted of raping a 19-year-old intern who'd been previously doxxed by conservative media despite her requests to remain anonymous.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A former Idaho lawmaker was convicted Friday of raping a 19-year-old legislative intern after a dramatic trial in which the young woman fled the witness stand during testimony, saying “I can’t do this.”

The intern told a Statehouse supervisor that Aaron von Ehlinger raped her at his apartment after the two had dinner at a Boise restaurant in March 2021. He said the sex was consensual.

At the time, von Ehlinger was a Republican state representative from Lewiston, but he later resigned.

Von Ehlinger, 39, was found guilty Friday of rape. He was found not guilty of sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Afterward, 4th District Judge Michael Reardon told the jury: “This has been an unusual case attended by many unexpected circumstances, but I appreciate your attention ... and hard work.”

A felony rape conviction carries a minimum sentence of one year in prison in Idaho. The maximum penalty can be as high as life in prison, at the judge’s discretion. Sentencing has been scheduled for July 28.

4. I live in Lewiston. I never met the dude, but I went to school with the woman that was appointed

to fill his seat. I also went to school with our other state house rep. At least we never voted that prick into office, he was also appointed to fill the seat because the lady that had it died.

He has no explanation of why he added "Von" to his name. Look at that shitstain and tell me it's not to sound more like a freakin' Nazi! That has to be why.

Our other rep. Mike "Pugsley" Kingsley is a real piece of work too and voted against disciplining Lt Gov. McGeachin for doxxing the girl. I've been calling him Mike Von Kingsley since he and Aaron must be so tight! LOL

But I do like and agree with the outcome. I just hope the judge throws the book at him and makes him pay the maximum sentence.

It has been so very long since one did something like this. When you read about a politician who committed some kind of sex crime, it almost always is republicans. Yet tell me again how they’re the party of family values, virtue, and good “christian” people?

I say, show him some mercy. Give him 45 years with no possible parole.
