Attn: News Media.

It is now time to end the practice of reporters standing in flooded streets or in the surf during major storms. It is difficult to hear them clearly due to wind and rain. It is also dangerous and prompts other idiots to follow suit. None of you will be the next Dan Rather. None of you. Especially you, Anderson Cooper, who doesn't seem to have enough common sense to put his hood up. Thank you.

2. Isn't that just conceding that it ok for the news to be stupid?

Can't the news improve? Couldn't Anderson Cooper's Mom make him wear his hat?

And nooz critters are protected by lovely force shields.

Look locally nooz bunnies go to wildfires in the back country wearing five inch heels and skimpy dresses. In the meantime I bring nomex, heavy boots, water and a vehicle for the occasion, and know the danger I am putting myself in.

You expect them not to get into the middle of a storm? I am saying this half in jest.

Ankle deep, water in the background, OK.

But that one talkin' head was 100 ft. out waist deep. Nat Guard trucks rolled through between him and the camera. All the while telling people how dangerous it is to be outside.

It's hilarious.

Unlike gulf storms where the talking heads have to travel to some god forsaken southern outpost, this storm came literally "right down Broadway". I'm surprised Geraldo isn't out there getting blown around.

8. Saw a reporter in a canoe where the water was less than a foot deep. It kept hitting bottom.
