(1,000 posts)You can bet your life I will be having yours, because that is exactly what we are all betting.
I come at this from this angle-flaming liberal, traditional marriage, Mom of three, Grammy of four. My parents died, I grew up in foster care. I know who is looking out for the weakest and most helpless. No one. Look at the States most likely to ban abortion, check metrics on child standard of living in those states. The expanded child tax credit lifted 30% of children out of poverty, the benefit reached 61 million children. Congress couldn't cut that fast enough.
Since mental health care is for whiners, slackers, and those just looking for an excuse (extreme sarcasm), you think this country is in a crisis now? Let the fascist win, let them run the school boards, let them embrace that trickle down economics, give them "don't ask don't tell" instead of healthcare. Give them non-woke math books instead of food. See how that works out in about 10 years.

Again, I don't know the OP she is referring to but her expression of anger feels cathartic to me. Thanks.
Understanding that DU men in general aren't the problem, thanks for standing by us.
What is amazing though is that there are so many men (on the Republican side) whose relationship with women is so distant, or controlling, or somehow they feel so threatened (that they'll lose their maidservants or have to compete in the workplace) that they will do this to their wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, grand-daughters. That they won't even back off just because they'd like to have sex (outside of rape), is a mystery to me. So much for family values.

Some families were happier bc their children were spaced out better.
Some women had careers before they had children.
Some spaced out their children so a grandparent could care for a grandchild more easily while their "child" went off to work.
Other single women , and couples wanted to remain Child Free, and able to do and live in he life they wanted to have.
So not for nothing, even if now we have to fight (arggg) again!

If we know that is going to be the case and when it happens what should the appropriate reaponse be to a govt that treats its citizens like that? The cluelessness of these "solutions," which are heartbreakingly commonly suggested, and which are perfectly sanguine about treating women like appliances - and which simply don't address the issue! - show us just how little some people have actually thought about what this means.
