Making women shut up

There are systems in place that take away a womens voice. Preventing them from speaking truths based upon a majority vote. No discussion must be had. A truth must be buried.

Sound familiar. Why are systems like this abided by?

Think about it folks. What do people really stand for? A system in place allowing our history to be re-written. An arbitrary rule. Keeping women in their place. Damn the truth. The history.

To protect what? Certainly not women. It is in place to shut us the hell up.

But there are still Catholics who are going to be giddy over this.

My late cousin used to stand across the street from Womens’ clinics and hold horrible signs while he and his group prayed the rosary in loud voices. This was maybe 5 years ago.

A woman can (and now MUST) save any evidence of a man's DNA in order to establish paternity. And I'm sure most women with collect and preserve evidence following sex (and I hope a girl's mother or guardian will do the same), to prove paternity and make a man or boy's family, as the case may be, able to be brought in a lawsuit to establish paternity and financial responsibility for their spawn.

21. Abortion bans amount to reproductive coercion, a crime against humanity, per the UN
Tue May 3, 2022, 09:45 AM
May 2022

I'm personally opposed to abortion, but I also oppose abortion bans and criminalization. I also believe the best way to reduce abortions is to make it unnecessary by strengthing the safety net, including prenatal care for poor women, health care, and public assistance for at least until the child is 2 years old, so the mom can get on her feet and not be a slave to destitution and shame.

The way Republicans go about ending abortion is literally a crime against humanity, i.e., state-mandated reproductive coercion and/or state-sponsored violence against women.

https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/crimes-against-humanity.shtml

Definition
Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court

Article 7
Crimes Against Humanity

For the purpose of this Statute, ‘crime against humanity’ means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:
Murder;
Extermination;
Enslavement;
Deportation or forcible transfer of population;
Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;
Torture;
Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;*
Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
Enforced disappearance of persons;
The crime of apartheid;
Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.
For the purpose of paragraph 1:
‘Attack directed against any civilian population’ means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;

How hypocritical of us to expect the rest of the world to follow humane treatment toward women, when we can't even do that ourselves. If there is any justice in the world, then we should be called out for it.

This is pure fascism we are seeing. Plus misinformation and disinformation is being drilled into peoples' heads daily.

25. Their fall-back position.....
Tue May 3, 2022, 10:00 AM

is always their gawd. Abortion rights - along with humane euthanasia rights - are to make sure no one takes a life but their gawd.

It's the only reason evangelical christians held their noses and pretended Donald Trump was a pious man.

Is this the only reason they want to overturn Roe v Wade? Of course not. The patriarchal republican party would love to put the "little ladies" back in their place, which they believe is in the home, baking bread, tending their "quiver full" of white christian children, and being subservient to men.

Christianity teaches that women are the " lesser vessel" though, and should always defer to their husbands in any decision making regarding the family.

Republicans want a return to what they ridiculously view as the halcyon days of post-WWII United States. Ozzie and Harriet. Leave it to Beaver. The Honeymooners. An imagined homogenous era where everyone was the same, and god, mom, and apple pie was the order of the day.

They also want a return to an America where minorities knew their place, and were only "tolerated" to serve the white man. This included the occasional sexual advances (rape) of minority women when "the misses had her flow" and the man's sexual desires could never be denied.

Their actions now cover up so many of white men's failings and small mindedness, but make no mistake, this is completely about men's (and their patriarchal gawd's) control of women of every color.

I'm ashamed to be a white man, and for what it's worth I humbly apologize to every woman of every color for the white man's failings. 😔

Some of those are things we could do something about if we had the same will the Republicans-a minority party!-has in abundance.

Make DC a state

Create a means to impose the will of the majority. Then expand the SC and pass the ERA.

I’m sick to death of reading that ooh! we’re bound to lose in November. We can’t do this. We can’t do that. McConnell blocked an SC nominee! We can accomplish things if we stop acting as though everything works as it did in the 80s, as if the GOP were honorable opponents who just have a different view of how to help Americans. They are terrorists. Start treating them and their mouthpieces that way.

... but no Critical Gender Theory. It is quite obvious to anyone who looks even briefly at the matter that the same sort of institutional discrimination applied to non-white races has been applied to women.

I hope Ron De Santis doesn't figure this out, or he'll propose a "don't say woman" law.
