David Dreier (R-Closet) might soon call it quits.

As Congressman Jerry Lewis, R-Redlands, announced his retirement yesterday, eyes focused on Rep. David Dreier, the longtime Congressman and Glendora’s current representative in the 26th district.

An Democratic-leaning district and paltry fundraising have political analysts predicting the 59-year-old Dreier next in a line of House members to forego reelection.

Dreier, Chairman of the House Committee, has 30 years of seniority in Congress, but recent redistricting maps have placed the Republican in a Democrat-leaning 32nd District. Although Dreier’s current district once included all of Glendora, new maps have divided the city. The 32nd district includes 8,000 Glendora voters in the southern portion of the city.

Dreier has remained quiet on his future plans (Dreier could not be reached for comment), only fueling speculation that Dreier’s Congressional career may come to a close.

He is essentially 'out' in Washington and his home district. His Chief of Staff is his longtime partner. But when it's time to vote, or speak on GLBT rights, he sides with the Talibangelists. You know what's worse? The press NEVER call him out on it.

12. Barbara Bush didn't know he was gay when she set up her daughter, Doro

with him..

"Barbara Bush was more determined than ever to see her daughter re-marry. She believed that only through marriage could Doro and her children find their safest haven. To that end Barbara encouraged Doro to date.
"We spent a weekend up at Camp David with the Bushes...They had two dogs up there at the time and the divorced daughter," recalled one congressional wife. "Barbara told me she was concerned because Doro had dated Representative David Dreier for a year and he never touched her...'Never laid a hand on her,' said Barbara...I think Doro had better luck when she started dating a Democrat.""
