Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs it alarming to anyone else that the conservative Supreme Court is drafting up a decision
to overturn Roe v. Wade BEFORE a case comes up before them?
And, kudos to the clerk who leaked the opinion. You are a hero surrounded by robed scoundrels.
Correction: Just learned from Ocelot that this draft is being written in response to Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health. I'm still alarmed, and glad we can see how the sausage is being made because it sounds like Alito's reasoning is not all there.

(11,419 posts)Barret alluded to her belief that the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments weren't "valid" because they were passed when some of the states were missing. If the reactionaries on the court could trash them outright they would.

No wonder FAUX NewZ is freaking out about the leak vs the opinion cause the leak allows people to see inside the GZPs mindset and their views of the constitution

(52,313 posts)The Democrats need to learn how to motivate people outside the party without following up with a donation request. It comes down to, DO something that would make me want to donate to you. If I feel like it's just a cash cow for Democratic campaigns, imagine how others will feel about it.
I just don't think Democrats are any good at reaching out to people. It's like, hey, be a loyal Democrat and shut up and send money.

(1,654 posts)I'm a committed Democrat, have been all my life. I vote in general elections, primaries, etc. But the emails get shared from lists, faster than I can unsubscribe, from candidates all over the country, people I never heard of - "look how bad the other side is, send me money. Are you going to let them do this to us? Send me money." I know they need money, so do I. I do send an occasional donation, but I hate it when the emails try to guilt me. I know it turns a lot of people off.
