First off I'd like to thank Scrivener7 for giving me this idea, her article is here.......

Inflation and corporate profits are at an all time high due to Capitalism's supply & demand laws. If we could put
demand on the back burner for awhile, say 60/90 days, supply would increase and prices will lower. So can
everyone quit shopping just to be shopping and start asking ourselves "Do I absolutely need this new (fill in
the blank) today, this week, this month" ?
For this "consumers are tired of corporate greed" to be effective, we need a national referendum or movement
with a start date which I have no idea how to start one other than to put the idea out here on DU.
One important thing to remember is, we should keep political parties out of this attack against Big Biz because
we want all consumers helping. Plus we don't need FQX's "look at them stupid Democrats" popping up.
Plus getting inflation down might help us in the midterms.
NOW, can SOMEONE WITH EXPERTISE in starting a national referendum please step up to the plate & hit a home run?
Because starting something like this is way over my head.
Please K&R & reply, as I truly believe this needs more discussion, tweaking, and action, you could save money.

(23,753 posts)but we need as many consumers as possible doing it and make sure big business knows we're doing it
on account of their greed. Let's use supply & demand to our advantage.

(2,161 posts)I'm not sure what you are envisioning with the term "national referendum". What is that?

(23,753 posts)stopped, looked up it's definition and it does loosely fit, but to save confusion I added......
"national referendum or movement". Clear as mud?
