One of the prevailing theories is that a conservative, rabid anti-choicer associated with the SCOTUS (one of the judges or a clerk, etc.) leaked it to lock in current... votes for lack of a better term.
How does that work? If they're still technically discussing it as the decision hasn't been made officially, why would a leaked memo prevent someone from changing their mind?
Or is that just a smokescreen to shift attention away from the actual decision and get people talking about the leak itself?

Clearly that is the motivation for some concentrating on the "who leaked" aspect.

(15,020 posts)preventing it from being the final opinion is one (or more) of Thomas, Gorsuch, Boofboy, or the Handmaiden failing to sign on. That puts pressure on them because now THEY, not the liberals, are the reason abortion is still legal. All the RWNJ hatemongers/terrorists will target them for their failure/disloyalty to the cause, and there is no way for them to hide from the public knowing which Justice(s) it was.

Speculation here that is just had to be a right winger, with some posters even naming people who they believe are responsible. The RW is speculating that it must be a progressive SC staffer.
You see this type of thing all the time; people making unfounded assumptions about the political leanings or race of criminals, victims etc. that end up not being close to accurate.
