Justice of the Supreme Court is a sweet gig!

You have the prestige of being scholarly in the matters of history and Constitutional law. You are tasked with weighing the merits of competing arguments in messy legal cases that couldn't be resolved elsewhere.

Any yet, these days the average layperson can predict with a high degree of accuracy what your "decisions" will be.

Contrast this with the work product from a medical diagnostician or a mathematician or an inventor.

Also, add in lifetime tenure and you get to wear those badass robes. I want that gig!

As of January 2020, associate justices of the Supreme Court earned an annual salary of $265,600, while the chief justice was paid $277,000.

Retiring U.S. Supreme Court justices are entitled to a lifetime pension equal to their highest full salary. In order to qualify for a full pension, retiring justices must have served for a minimum of 10 years provided the sum of the justice's age and years of Supreme Court service totals 80.

You can even have a spouse participating in an insurrection and not even have to recuse yourself from those cases!

You can lie during your confirmation hearing in order to get the job and still have the last laugh!

That's why Rehnquist added strips to his.

Academic regalia reflects your major study area, and the institution where you studied.

I think SCOTUS should do the same with 1 addition. There should be a red and blue stripes reflect the balance of a justices confirmation. IF you got appointed by a dominant party, you get at least 2 of such stripes. If you had a split decision you get 2 for the dominant party and one for the resistance.

The advantage of this system is that justices must behave in a manner that contradicts their stripes, if they are to be considered non=partisan.
