tweets and can't figure out why things are slipping into darkness?!!?!?
Bring back the likes of Tip O'Neill or for cripes sake LBJ and let's get things DONE.
My governor Gavin Newsom just weighed in with pretty much the same thoughts.
Personally, I feel that EVERY SINGLE OUNCE OF OUR LEGISLATIVE ENERGY has to go to voting rights, voting rights and voting rights.
THEN and only then can we begin to work on other things, but when everyone can vote, sooooooooo many things are going to begin getting fixed just by that alone.

(3,487 posts)"Go ahead then, do it! Show us the way" means what? I've voted Dem since I was able to vote, for 50 years, radicalized Chicago '68, been beaten up by Birmingham , Alabama cops when I organized the first ever Vietnam war protest there in college, been to countless protests since, supported candidates with my time and money, and on and on.
SHOULD I HAVE STORMED THE CAPITOL?

(21,780 posts)How exactly does that work? Is Biden supposed to issue an Executive Order to end gridlock?
Why is she complaining about Democrats, when the Republicans own the Supreme Court and have enough votes in the Senate to stymie pretty much anything.
I like AOC. I admire her courage, her passion, her idealism, but I don't understand why when the Republicans screw us over, she pins the responsibility on Democrats.
If she has a concrete plan for Democrats to overcome this, she should show us the way.
The only thing I can think of is to Get Out The Vote for Democrats, and claiming Democrats are not doing their jobs is not very motivating.

That is the only real pathway to actually getting the things done that need to be done!

(6,265 posts)yet her politics seem to be gravitating back toward Bernie S type politics. That is a viable and correct concern to me. She is a fighter and I like that the most. No one intimidates AOC.

(2,403 posts)Give me a break. I am very tired of this. You know what Democrats held Roe in place for 50 years. Not until these Democrat bashing left wing splinter groups came along did we have this shit to contend with.
These people want to run as Democrats, bash Democrats, and the Demand that Democrats save them. Just about every good thing we have in this country is because of a Democrat. How about some support for once?

So again where are the votes coming from? Or are you just interested in ripping into Joe?

(3,487 posts)the sticky note he made about this has fallen down onto the floor.

(2,403 posts)So it is (probably) impossible for him to do and you want to keep bringing it up.

(3,487 posts)He didnt post any ifs ands or buts about it either. Just said he would do it.
If he had said if we have enough votes and Jupiter is rising over Mars and the Magic 8 Ball says yes, I will do it that would be a totally different thing.
If he spoke in error, or at this time just cant be bothered, Id appreciate him just letting us know. As it is, I still take him at his word and his promise.

(86,005 posts)...I'd think anyone concerned with the issues she's advocating would appreciate that AOC is using every instigation of democratic action to put her ideals into effect.
What always perplexes me is how people who respond to her advocacy with cynicism and outright hostility believe that's some effective political action. She already has opponents in the opposition party broadsiding her, why would anyone believe their own rock-throwing at this Democrat has a different effect on the party?
