In 1979 during and after the so-called Iranian Revolution, women were commanded to don burkas because of fundamentalist Islamic Law.

Hoards of women protested in the streets, hair uncovered, wearing western apparel, make-up, fists in the air one day -- and the next day, they were all wearing black burkas.

It won't happen that way here with non-fundamentalist Christian women. We will protest. We will march. We will not accept your laws that allow the government to regulate our uteri and our lives. We will not put on your burkas.
