I saw an interview with her regarding abortion. She defined life very simply and accurately:
"When a being does not breathe it is dead. Therefore life begins when a being can breathe." (paraphrased)
My thoughts:
We do not call an egg a chicken, or a duck, or a goose. It is an egg. When it can breathe it is a chicken, turkey, duck, or goose.
* Not a Bush family fan, but in this case the comment makes a point.

(42,552 posts)My problem with this is that the Bush ladies were regularly trotted out to put a kindler, gentler face on things when GOP overreach was scaring people. Laura and Barbara would say something that reassured people and it was completely meaningless. The impression was given that the man they were married to would never allow the big scary thing to happen. That wasn't true, and both ladies had to be aware of that, which makes them complicit.

W was able to wipe away his past by claiming to be born again. The cristofacist eat that shit up.
Of course they accepted Trump because...he was the white supremacist they'd been told god would send them.
