Democrats need to unite and push and repeat over and over again that a vote for Republicans will be a vote to ban abortions nation wide. A vote for Republicans will be a vote to ban contraceptives nation wide. A vote for Republicans will be a vote to end democracy and replace our government with fascism.
It is not hyperbole, it is the truth. If Republicans gain control of government this will happen. It is important in states like my state of Pennsylvania which has a Republican controlled state government but a Democratic governor and Democratic AG. If Pa. loses those 2 offices it will certainly pass anti-abortion laws. The people of Pa. and of other similar states who think they are safe from abortion bans need to be made aware that they are not safe if they fail to vote for Democrats.

That type of video ad (and subsequent ones, that can go to the next level) needs to be pounded all summer long.

(10,134 posts)I really don't get how Americans can support Nazis and Nazi values when we fought so hard to get rid of them in WWII? This is not what the majority of our grandparents fought for. They would be ashamed.

(21,300 posts)Would love to see it on TV as well as all over social media. I doubt that TV stations would run it, but it can and should be shared across social media.

(128,357 posts)and since there is nothing in it that is "NSFW" - i.e., there's no "profanity" or "nudity" or "extreme violence", I can't see why it might not be do-able.
What would also help is if some of the few left-leaning hosts like Rachel or Lawrence could run it during their show as part of an "analysis" to give it some buzz. They did that for one of the ads done by the Agenda Project in 2014 -

(21,234 posts)but I want to emphasize that states who think they are safe from abortion being banned are not safe, they need to also get out and vote and elect Democrats. Every state in the nation is at risk for abortion being banned, even the blue states.
Yes, our rights being taken away won't stop with abortion. The Republican party is radical. That needs to also be emphasized. The Republican party has become the party of dangerous conspiracy theory radicals. Vote Democratic and let's get back to normalcy.
We need an ad with McConnell stating that a national abolition ban is possible when the repubs get back in charge.

(4,552 posts)Abortion is one and if not for Pittsburgh and Philadelphia the state will ban abortion.
We also have the highest fuel tax in the nation thanks to Corbett and the republicans. Republicans raised taxes in Pa!!!!! Part of the republican platform is to lower the fuel tax they increased. They increased it to fix our roads. The roads are still not fixed!
Highest cost toll road in the world. Pa. Turnpike.
We lead the nation in socialist corporate welfare.
We lag the nation in job creation.
Our schools are unfairly funded.
Property taxes in the state are very unfair. My county has not had a reassessment in 60 years.
The gas frackers are destroying ground water and the Pa AG has sued the Pa EPA to force enforcement.
We need to run a issues campaign.
We must run an issues based and loud campaign.

(5,553 posts)"The economy, stupid" - Carville was right in '92 and that advice still holds.
It's tempting to make 1/6, Trump, or RvW the headline; but polls consistently show economic issues at the top of the electorate's priorities. Just because it's super important to us - politically engaged Democrats - doesn't mean that is the norm. In this case, the polls pretty clearly show that it is not.
