Well-connected teen back in custody after being let off easy for rape
Matthew Chapman
On Monday, The Daily Beast reported that Bowen Turner, an Orangeburg, South Carolina teenager whose unusually light sentence for rape caused outrage, is back in police custody following an alleged disorderly conduct incident at a bar.
"Bowen Turner, 19, was taken into custody Sunday by the Orangeburg County Sheriffs Office, according to court records. He was charged with one count of public disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor," said the report, noting Turner also told a deputy he'd "bite [his] f**king finger off" if made to wear a mask. "The incident ... involved Turners alleged overconsumption of alcohol at an area bar. This, according to attorney Sarah Ford, who represents the families of two of Turners alleged victims, not only contravenes laws against underage drinking but almost certainly constitutes a serious violation of Turners admittedly light punishment."
As the report noted, Turner whose father is employed by a local prosecutor has escaped meaningful punishment for serious crimes.
"
"Turner has been accused of raping three teenagers in three counties over two years, but has only been tried for one," said the report. "In one case, Turner allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl at a party in October 2018, six months after he was accused of rape by another teen. Turner was arrested in January 2019 and released on $10,000 bond. While he was under house arrest and awaiting trial, Turner left home more than 50 times to, among other things, play golf, go shopping at a car dealership out of state, and eat at a Columbia steakhouse."

(10,539 posts)He got a virtual free pass before, but now he is rubbing their nose in it. Sounds like real punishment for this entitled punk should be coming soon. It is the D.A.s butt on the line now!

Chloe Bess, one Bowen Turner's three accusers, said she fled and hid behind a bush after the attack, as he searched for her screaming her name

Turner had also been charged with raping 18-year-old Dallas Stoller (above), but those charges were dropped after she took her own life last November

(7,334 posts)And I'm the rare liberal who DOES support the ultimate penalty in cases of rape and egregious sadistic hate crimes that result in Death when the investigation and trials are administered in a fair and impartial way, and ALL legal appeals are exhausted.
Seem this white privileged waste of sperm and egg has both strikes against him.

(53,544 posts)Regardless it would appear the prosecutor is not fit to serve and needs to be removed.
I would suggest charging ethics violation and be disbarred.

(20,591 posts)That little boy needs a walk behind the woodshed with all of these young women's fathers. He'd never rape anyone again, guaranteed.
Just looking at his picture makes me want to slap the crap out of him.
And that one young lady killed herself?
Someone needs to teach that little shit a lesson. His republican parents certainly aren't showing him any discipline.

(20,591 posts)they call a future in the State Penitentiary system "bright". Maybe they can get him a cell on the south side of the penitentiary where it would be a little brighter, I guess.
One look at that kid's face screams "lifetime in the state prison system". He doesn't look bright enough to live past 21. Some people have that aura about them, and his aura is pitch black.

b) no one has advocated "a dose of his own medicine" when he gets to prison. Yet.
