Exquisite optics. Oh, and irony is dead.

Estimates for the royal family as a whole bringing in tourist money is L550M.

Cost to Britain's taxpayers to keep the royals in crowns and estates is estimated to be L345M.

So nice try but not close. I always wonder why Americans are so fascinated with those "royals" and try to justify their existence. We fought a war to end monarchies.

and not doing well. IMO they should skip him go on to the next generation. The outfit with all the medals is played and should be discontinued as it looks silly and pretentious.

What did he do to earn those medals?

abandon the practice of wearing all the medals.

William and Harry at least did serve in the military.

Although I think the royals are past their sell-by date, Charles did in fact serve in the RAF as a helicopter pilot and commanded a minehunter for the last almost year he was in the forces. I think when the Queen dies should be a natural time to declare them obsolete. And I was born in England, but haven't lived there in almost 50 years.

I saw the medals worn by Russian military yesterday. They could melt them down to build another tank.

Good to get views of someone born in the UK on the monarchy who feels it's time for the shebang to go.

I didn't expect to hear that.
