Here's a billboard I'd love to see among all of those red state anti-abortion ads.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not religious, but I know most of the anti-abortion crowd is. They can't come up with a compelling Bible verse against abortion but this verse that starts off the Adam and Eve tale appears to clear the way for it.

Billboards need to be short and sweet, readable in three seconds or less. Drivers have to watch the road.

13. Until the fetus can breathe on it's own it can be called a parasite.

Because it depends on the host for everything. So many things can go wrong in those 9 months to cause a miscarriage.

As humans with love and empathy we avoid using that word for a fetus.

Technological advances have changed the gestation of survival. That same technology is used against Pro-choice advocates. The new defination of a heartbeat is the latest example.

If a fetus is a human being with "legal rights" then EVERY PREGNANT WOMAN should be allowed to vote twice!

12. You are correct. These folks ignore the New Testament - especially the bits in red letters.

(Are there still are red letter bibles, with the words of Jesus in red?) Jesus had nothing to say on the subject. Even Paul, a misogynist, had nothing to say about abortion.

The Hebrew text is clear, at least to me, that a fetus is not a person until it breathes. There is some authority in Jewish thought for the proposition that a child that does not survive for at least 30 days was never a viable person. The only reference I can find in either the Hebrew text or the New Testament to abortion is in the Hebrew text, (Numbers 5:11–31) in which a woman suspected by her husband of adultery would be given a concoction that would be an abortifacient if she had been unfaithful.

Even under old English law, which Alito, J. seems to admire, a fetus was not the subject of any protection of the law until "quickening," when the fetus could be felt to move.
