Not sure who Steve Dondley is, but he is selectively misrepresenting things. Probably wont follow him. I get why people hate Musk, but this is BS.

Also, $2800 to Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, Joni Ernst.
You were saying about selectively misrepresenting?
I get that you love Musk, but this is BS.

(12,246 posts)Musk gave a lot more in prior years between Dems and Repubs.
It isn't a strong argument but I don't think it's misrepresented since he specifically says 2021.

(54,770 posts)Its still a misleading tweet. Think the Tweeter has some professional jealousy issues, but thats just from reading his bio. So, cant be certain.

(15,463 posts)personality, politics the whole deal. Thing is - I don't really need slanted news (half truths) - in order to make that determination. It's hardly a defense of one - to object to the other. We use to call it muckraking ...

Text (I hate twitter):
In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party.
But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.
Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold 🍿

(54,770 posts)Possessive apostrophe:
"Elon's donations were made as the Capitol was stormed."
Apostrophe contraction:
"Elon's a narcissistic dick who doesn't pay enough tax."
Plural (no apostrophe):
"Millions of people love Elon, despite overwhelming evidence that he is a parasitic fraud and utter douchebag."
Sorry, pet peeve.

(23,953 posts)From his use of the defamatory phrase "pedo guy" against the diver who helped rescue those kids in Thailand (Musk was insulted that his submarine wasn't used and he and one of a rescue diver got into a public war of words), to his praise of the trucker conveys to his anti-vaxx tweets, he certainly seems ideologically connected with that crowd. And if he does stuff just to troll and own the libs, he's definitely more ideologically connected to that crowd than people on the left.

(86 posts)Sounds like what the Russians say about those that support Ukraine. So it seems fair to ask what the treatment should be since you made the statement.
But hey. You do you and have a great day.

(32,354 posts)As reflected in other threads, I've stated that my anti-Musk actions are currently limited to never, ever buying a Tesla. I hope the Russians/Ukraine fantasies gave you great pleasure. Oh, and have a great day.

(86 posts)That I didn't review your entire post history to know what you considered appropriate treatment of the enemy horde/collaborators should be.
I'm not sure what part my post was fantasy.
But again... have a great day.

(11,767 posts)I can acknowledge the contributions he has made with Tesla, to alternative energy. I can also acknowledge that he opposed health guidelines and Unionization so vehemently that he threatened to shut down his main factory in California.
I can acknowledge that so far, he has been good at business. I can also acknowledge that he thinks he built everything he has from the ground up as a measure of his superiority. He was born into wealth, which is the greatest predictor of whether you will be wealthy when you grow up.
In my opinion, like other wealthy people, Musk contributes to both sides, not necessarily because supports their ideas and policies but because he wants to INFLUENCE the policies of either side. Heads he wins, tails he wins. Musk is an opportunist and his underlying goal is to maintain his wealth and influence.
I do not support the idea of people like Musk, Gates, Bezos, etc... It is like a poker player who has the biggest stack but that stack came with them into the tournament, and helped them to get lessons from expert poker players, and that poker player has influence on the rule making committee for the poker tournament. They are likely to win because often the stack does a lot of the playing, and they have secured themselves all the advantages, but they insist that it is purely their skill as a player that makes them better and say they deserve their advantages because of their hard work and skill.
They, and society sell this bullsht that "you too can be like me" which is utter nonsense. They encourage competition and cheating in an already rigged game and prevent people from uniting for common goals.
