Failed. Corporations now run our country and we're all suffering the consequences.
If the media would focus on why we are here, Biden would look like a hero. Republicans gave us this mess.
Unregulated capitalism is killing democracy.
Conscientious people have no choice when voting. Democrats are our only hope.

(31,081 posts)I think I read something similar to that and he Joseph Conrad story once, it really rings true. They talk a good game about competition improving things. But what they really want is a curb on the market. They arent happy until they own all of the means to production

(16,823 posts)That is the Republican answer to growing the economy as they urge businesses NOT to pay better wages and benefits to their workers when many can afford to.

(7,434 posts)1. Unregulated capitalism is a necessary component of fascism when the gap between the wealthy and the rest of us dramatically increases, causing the wealthy to gain more power than a government can tolerate. Corporations DO stifle political conflicts that mean a lessening of profit for them, and they will demand that civil rights, including voting rights, be curtailed to protect profits. We see this right now, in real time.
2. Unregulated capitalism dooms the ecosphere and destroys human life on Earth. Human beings cannot separate themselves from greed in facing environmental catastrophe. Regulating capitalism for the sustainability and survival of the planet is an existential necessity.
