I do not know why the President is only focusing on them. He should also be talking about WV, MD, VA, PA, OH, DE, NH. Three of which are swing states and have been affected by Sandy. I expect Mitt to attack Obama for not caring about them.

(125 posts)If they need help, of course, they will get it. Lake flooding, heavy snows, etc.

(322 posts)And has authorized federal funding. Not sure about any other states, but I'm sure you can Google them.
You really don't keep on top of the news, do you? Just make sure you deliver any pertinent information back to FR if you'd be so kind!

(125 posts)CNN has not mentioned that. I am a Republican voting for Obama, and I put up a website explaining why. I put up this post and am met with a lot of sarcasm. This post was put up in good faith. Ever since the problem in Libya, Mitt's main selling point has been Obama is a nice incompetent guy. It was working. Now Obama's performance in this crisis points out the weakness in that argument. Romney cannot be more presidential then Obama, so he has to attack Obama in another way. He has no problems with lies, and people have a natural tendency to say What is the president doing for me. Therefore in his public statements Obama must point out he is working for all the people, in all the states that have been affected.

(82,383 posts)Maybe those states are OK - they are inland - DE has a coast and the governor is handling it - it's not as big as NJ's. Maybe NJ was hit the worst.

(125 posts)Mitt has his rallies for the disaster victims, where he asks cans of food, although the Red Cross can not use them. He will send his campaign bus filled with food to one of these states, and then attack Obama for not caring. Just saying.

(15,445 posts)ten states plus DC. Which do you think will have more weight--FEMA and the Feds or a truck load of groceries?
