(4,845 posts)because reasonable people were so fed up with his BS they left on their own. While I understood them when I saw the news back in TFG era, I was very worried as experienced experts were all leaving the federal agencies leaving a vacuum for TFG to fill.

(47,275 posts)And imagine, if he'd had just one more year, he probably would have installed his nutty sycophants in every major position in government and republicans in congress would have done nothing to stop him. He was trying up to the very end of his presidency.
It is horrifying how quickly one mindless tyrant can destroy everything of value, as well as democracy itself. We've seen it happen over and over again in other countries throughout history, but so many truly believed "It couldn't happen here". It doesn't happen to people, people let it happen.
