Andriy Zagorodnyuk: 'Those who say Ukraine can't win don't understand the situation'

A New York Times editorial article titled “The War in Ukraine Is Getting Complicated, and America Isn’t Ready,” published on May 19, immediately triggered a stir in Ukraine and beyond.

Coming from a media outlet that has the reputation of being supportive of U.S. assistance to Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, it has surprised many.

The New York Times, following the U.S. Senate’s historic approval of $40 billion in assistance for Kyiv, said it was not “in America’s best interest to plunge into an all-out war with Russia.”

Andriy Zagorodnyuk: In the American community, there’s still a lack of understanding of what (Russia’s war) might end up being and where it’s going. The most informed part, working with the military, has a clearer vision. They have a clear understanding of the fact that, despite all of Russia’s effort and investment, the result is far less effective than what was expected.

It’ll be over for Russia once Chechnya, Georgia and Belarus go the same route as Ukraine. Russia, with a GDP 20% smaller than that of Italy will not be able to save its crumbling empire.

Support by Americans for Ukraine and our support for it remains very high- 73+%. That says that Americans do understand what’s at stake.

“Not in America’s best interest to plunge into an all out war with Russia.” Who says we are doing that? If we go to war with Russia, it won’t be our doing, it will be that sack of shit dictator in Russia.

The NYT needs to stop with the arm chair general opinions and leave military decisions to those best able to make them. and quit publishing this kind of nonsense the far right will eat up!

Geez!!

blame the coming economic collapse on the millions of Ukrainian refugees. I think we will start seeing
support of the war falling in Europe and the US. I see no reason to be optimistic about our chances in
the 2022 or 2024 elections. Are we helping Ukraine or are we just prolonging the death and destruction?
Tell me why we should be optimistic about the mess we are in?
