Far-right provocateur Dinesh DSouza seems to haveat least for the time beingfully nuked his relationship with Fox News.
Over the past two weeks, DSouza has raged against Fox and rival Newsmax for snubbing his election-denying film, 2,000 Mules, which has been shredded by fact-checkers and news outlets over its gaping holes and provably false claims about voter fraud in the 2020 election.
DSouza took specific aim at Tucker Carlson for allegedly suppressing mentions of his batty flick, going as far as sharing a series of supposed text messageswhich he characterized as highly abusivefrom the Fox hosts executive producer Justin Wells.
Apparently throwing bombs at Foxs prized primetime host, a right-wing media kingmaker, may have been unwise: After having appeared on longtime friend Laura Ingrahams nightly Fox News show at least 15 times this year, DSouza has all but disappeared.

(27,257 posts)Far-right conspiracy crank Dinesh D'Souza is back with yet another conspiracy theory to promote, and if you haven't heard much about the Republican propagandist's newest film, its because it is extremely, unfathomably stupid. 2000 Mules achieved a level of stupidity so stupid that D'Souza can't even get Fox News to jump in with the usual publicity boost. It's a train wreck.
That status, however, may not prevent the (cough) "film" from coming to a theater near you. Any theater chain still devoted to making money won't likely be touching it, but Judd Legum's Popular Information reports that theater chain Cinemark will be showing the film in at least 169 locations.
That's significant, Legum and reporter Rebecca Crosby explain, because Cinemark is founded and headed by far-right Republican donor Lee Roy Mitchell, who's shelled out donations to Trump, still-indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Kris Kobach, andsurpriseDennis Prager, one of the conspiracy weirdos D'Souza leans on in his film to sell, again, the stupidest conspiracy theory D'Souza has yet mustered in a long, stupid career.

Time for me to boycott that chain going forward.

D'Souza misjudged the market for his product.
