Electronic billboard. Planning on subliminal suggestion. Consider picture of nazi flag Putin and GOP symbol. Viewers will not consciously know they have seen these. Then followed by blue background sign. SAVE Our DEMOCRACY VOTE DEMOCRATIC!
Southern Christian Republican did not like this. Said This wouldn't make me vote Democratic, i want to see something positive. Northern Democratic woman said I like it but sign may get shot out first day. I got similar responses but less emphatic from others. The southern lady said give me something positive if you want me to vote Democratic. So I considered " Subsidized Child Care Better Social Security and Women's right to Choose. Followed by same blue sign.
Thought about this for some time and then remembered nobody likes negative ads BUT they work.
Keep in mind messages will be subliminal, viewers will not be conscious of seeing them. Studies by scientists and psychologists have proven this method works.
What do you all think?

What you are proposing would make people link nazi flag, Putin, and the GOP symbol with voting Democratic.

(2,949 posts)Subsidized child care, increased Social Security and woman's right to choose. I also considered redoing the flags etc. with red cross outs on them. I am not trying to convince either hard core voters to vote a Democratic I am trying to get the swing voters to vote Democratic. Still working on this and that is why I posted here for suggestions. I could even put symbols up with red cross outs on them alone.
Thank you for your input.

(25,848 posts)but you are on the right path wanting to concentrate on the swing voters. Although I think it's probably very difficult to locate genuine swing voters.
I don't think subliminal advertisement is at all the way to go, since it's really not very effective.

(2,949 posts)Got mixed results. Some say it works, some say it doesn't work. One phrase caught my attention. It cannot convince a voter to vote for a candidate he doesn't like. That is not my goal. I live in Michigan, there are about 10-20 percent swing voters in this state. If our sign can swing 50 percent or more to vote our way it is worth the expense/effort. That's a big IF. Still thinking about the project. Still confused.

(25,848 posts)You'd have to try out ads, see if they actually work, probably fine-tune them for best results. If you are not already an expert in subliminal advertising, I think you shouldn't go there.

(2,949 posts)Or just one with no subliminal stuff.
Just "Save our Democracy
VOTE DEMOCRATIC"
Would be your recommendation?

(25,848 posts)But at the very least, have you been able to find out what one with the subliminal stuff would cost? Is it even possible for one to be set up for subliminal messaging?
But yeah, "Save our Democracy" is basic. You might also target specific Republicans with facts about what they've voted for or against. Especially if connected to things like yesterday's mass murder in Texas.

(2,949 posts)they don't vote for a party, they vote for what they determine is the best candidate. So what message would convince them the Democratic candidate is the best candidate? Or should I say any Democratic candidate is the best candidate?
