I have heard it time and time again, the right feels after 50 years of constant pressure to limit their constitutional rights that it will never end so they are putting enormous amounts of pressure on lawmakers to oppose any further gun control. Don't expect any support or votes from them because they won't do shit.

The theocratic Nazi states of 'Merica are busy passing laws to make gun ownership EASIER.
Wouldn't surprise me to find grenade launchers and full machine guns are next up.
Fuck it, remotely operated armed drones will be next.

"I cant tell you if its going to be next week, six months, but I can tell you before I am done as governor, we will have a signature on that bill, said the Republican governor during a press conference in Friday in rural Levy County to talk about a separate issue local infrastructure funding."

This country has become the cuckoo's nest.

(13,284 posts)will anything be done.
When Ted Cruz's daughter is shot, or some other republicans senators kid, and has to be identified by DNA, THEN there will be movement on gun control. But until then, count on nothing being accomplished.

(1,972 posts)But since the eruption of the Qparty I don't think he or any other like him would react that way. They would not blame the gun but the person. Just like today.

(16,698 posts)A minority of the population controls government in this country. McConnell represents about 30% of the population, but controls 50% of the senate. That makes our GOVERNMENT center right, but survey after survey indicate that as a POPULATION we are significantly more progressive. Our country is dividing itself rural/urban and there is vastly more urban population than rural. I'm just not sure how it will play out over time. But I don't think that this country can long last like this.

What we need is to vote in a super majority of Democrats that are actually willing to make the legislative changes that will improve people's lives, including discussion of and legislation toward gun safety reforms that make it harder for people with bad intentions, to get access to guns.
