Its not the 2nd amendment, its a child!
Not that they care, but the latter is how I feel. If they care about the child in the first, it stands to reason they *should* care about the child in the second statement. I know they only care about birth.
This whole thing makes me so sad.

(11,744 posts)It is the choice of the woman who is basically the incubator for the clump of cells, or the fetus, that certainly at one point will be a child if she chooses to carry the fetus to term. Until it is viable outside the uterus however, it is not a child.
When we are talking about shootings, these are fully formed, self aware children who do not want to die in a hail of bullets, facilitated by many factors including very lax gun laws.
You are ascribing too much logic and good faith in the arguments of Conservatives. They do not care about "the child" in either of those scenarios.
In the "choice" statement, they do not care about the "child". Their aim is to punish women for having sex, and to control women's reproduction.
Regarding guns, they take massive amounts of money from the gun industry and are beholden to legislating on the behalf of the gun industry to proliferate firearms.
