Recess. Fuck them. Get some goddamned work done. Make the craven republicans who get their blood money from the NRA work over the holiday weekend. GET THEM ON RECORD RIGHT AFTER THIS HORRIFIC MASS MURDER OF CHILDREN. In two weeks, people's emotions will have settled down. He needs to get the vote ON RECORD NOW, while people are upset and giving impassioned speeches on the Senate floor. Fucking instant campaign ads right there.

I'm so sick of "It won't pass so we won't even try." Get them on the record!

Who gives a shit?

We know that ALL 50 repubs will vote against it.

Then, they will fundraise off it.

No. We won't get people who are stupid enough to vote for republicans to become smart enough to see the fools they have been. But in this window, these ghouls will have to stand up and say they won't stop child murder. Some republicans - some - might just be disgusted enough to at least stay home on Election Day. This is going to be a close election. We need every vote possible. I don't see how letting his republican colleagues duck this is a good thing.

Which we are not likely to get, so even with 50 votes, it wouldn't pass.

Really demoralizing and terrible. If this is some strategy, he should explain the strategy in a way that's comprehensible. This is fucking stupid.

with regard to codifying Roe v. Wade. It failed because of Manchin and 50 Rep. senators. Getting them on the record doesn't seem to do a damn thing. So, while I wish he was a fiercer fighter, I think he knows that any vote related to gun control would fail and putting 'em on the record would have little to no effect. Manchin made his feelings known right after the massacre. Nope can't sacrifice the sacred filibuster.

Now, should they have a frigging 2 week break after this?
NFW. Come back Tuesday and get to work.

And vote the bastards out in November.

and must be a new bill to come to the floor? If the house passes bills in the house and they are have not yet come before the senate, can they be brought up in the new senate after the election? Or are they dead because of the election? What I am trying to understand, is can the house work with Schumer and the senate to pass bills to go to the senate to be prepared just in case the dems lose the house, and if the dems win the senate with a couple more senators and change the rules of the filibuster, can those bills already passed in the previous house, pass the senate, if no changes? Can they have them sitting there ready to go?
