Please send the police now, she said at one point.
from 12:03pm to 12:51pm, MULTIPLE children called 9-1-1, begging for police to come.
48 minutes of pure, abject horror for these kids as the cops and border patrol DID ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NOTHING!!
They are accomplices to mass murder!

(1,849 posts)So mired in political shit and grift, and I have family who lives there.
I saw a DU thread earlier that was very concerning, for humanitarian reasons.

Of course the Texans at DU, and elsewhere, understand or try to comprehend how and why things happen the way they do in Texas. Corruption and incompetence exist everywhere to varying degrees. But Texas does things in a big way, and this was a way big display of it.
The police response was not just unacceptable, it was negligent and exudes fascism, waiting for swat or border patrol to respond and act while controlling and subduing any attempts by family members/citizens to take action and respond. Those were probably their instructions.
It breaks my heart and makes me mad.
Facts have been suppressed as they were trickled out by "officials". Police and politicians trying to orchestrate a response that can explain and justify this screwed up handling of this horrible and tragic event. More will come out, but not only from officials. Learning that the 911 calls didn't bring a swift response (there were already officers at the scene?) Is heartbreaking and makes me mad! I know I said that already. I expect I will feel that way as more information emerges about this recent tragedy.

(5,969 posts)That transcript is horrifying, yet everybody needs to see and probably hear this to confront the brutal truth.
Imagine seeing your classmates getting murdered one by one and those who you thought would help you don't do anything for an eternity. The thought of a kid having to go from informing the police from the number of classmates killed to the number of people that are still alive is heartbreaking.
