Most gun owners agree. It's a small sub-section of gun owners that scare the rest with "they're coming for our guns".
The NRA has around 5 million members vs. 335 million Americans.
Most Americans want a ban on semi-automatic guns. But...

I would defy anyone to show me a credible poll showing that anything approaching a majority support an outright ban on semiautomatic weapons.
Incidentally, are you mixing up automatic (ie a machine gun) and semiautomatic (ie, one trigger pull, 1 shot discharged)?
