Teachers (and other DUers who seriously follow ED issues): What do you know about "Danielson"?

I believe I posed on this topic earlier in the year.( Maybe not.
Anyone remember where I but the fish oil capsules? Jeepers.)

"Danielson" is one Charlotte Danielson, new teacher-eval guru ( "gur-
ette"?) who's all the rage in NYC and in a lot of other targeted
urban school districts.

"Targeted" in the sense of..... well.... fill in the blank however
you wish. In any case it seems like it ( i.e.Danielson) or something
LIKE it is coming your way real soon if it hasn't arrived there
already.

Apparently the game plan is to produce an "ineffective" rate of about
25%. At that rate they can pretty much turn-over an entire school
faculty in four or five years.

Anyway, there are -- just now -- emerging critical analyses ( i.e. non-
adoring, non-commercial) of the Danielson frameworks and how they are
being applied or misapplied.

This one struck me as spot on:

And check out the comments. My sentiments exactly. Or pretty damned
close.

Anyone else here using Danielson?
