Have any of the Uvalde police resigned in shame yet?

No? I haven't heard that anyone has resigned. Not one of them has a conscience?

Remember that several Capitol police resigned after Jan 6? They were also following orders. But they couldn't protect the Capitol and several of them were so ashamed of that fact that they quit.

I must be incredibly naive because I should think that failing to save children would be gut-wrenching.

I am just guessing that they'll hide behind the excuse of "following orders."

But children were bleeding out while they were standing in the hallway. NO ONE thought "to hell with orders, I'm going to try and save children"? NO ONE?

And if they didn't, I hope they DO have nightmares for the rest of their lives.

(Newsweek) "The police chief, who has come under intense scrutiny for delaying officers' response to the elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, which killed 21 people Tuesday, was recently elected to the local city council."

"Peter Arredondo, chief of police for the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD), reportedly kept nearly two dozen officers from breaking into a Robb Elementary School classroom as a gunman opened fire for roughly an hour. A total of 19 children and two teachers were killed when 18-year-old Salvador Ramos entered the building and fired more than 100 rounds with an assault-style weapon."

"Arredondo was elected to the Uvalde City Council just three weeks before the shooting, after running on a platform of communication and outreach, NBC News reported Friday. He earned nearly 70 percent of the vote."

Can you imagine performing your duties when a whole town hates you! I mean what good are you even? Who needs you if you can’t even go into a building with armour and AR15’s to stop a slaughter of kids that the you were literally hearing. The residents know that their badass Police have no interest in Serving and the whole world saw how well they Protect. The people depended on them and in their biggest moment of their career they cowered in fear and shit their pants. We on our own to protect ourselves as the ones who wear the badges and guns showed that they will not protect you or your kids.

they'll either be trigger happy to make up for it, or they'll be so scared to face a gun as to be useless.
should be mandatory time off and counseling after these things.
