~snip~
"According to Navarro, the grand jury subpoena directs him to appear for June 2 testimony and to produce any documents that would shed light on his refusal to testify to congressional investigators in February. The demand for documents, he says, include records of any contacts he had with Trump or the former presidents attorneys."

(7,616 posts)This is not a congressional subpoena that he can just ignore knowing congress can't enforce it. It's a DOJ subpoena. They can drag him in front of them and if he refuses he will land in jail.

(10,039 posts)This is serious and his bs executive privilege claim is not going to fly at all. He will be in for a world of hurt.
Mr.Bill
(24,238 posts)repeatedly say he doesn't remember. But I think he firmly believes he has executive privilege, and he will die being the last man on earth to believe that. You can't change these people's minds, and they aren't afraid of consequences, and for very good reason - there haven't been any.

(144,919 posts)Before TFG, Navarro was a third or fourth tier academic that no one paid attention to. Jarod did a google search and found Navarro because Navarro was one of the few people who supported some of TFG crazed economic policies.
There is a saying in my profession, that a person who represents himself has a fool for a client. Navarro is truly a fool

(4,913 posts)Hell is coming for Trumps inner circle. Navarro admitted, described the attempted coup on TV. His logic, I will just tell everyone the attempted coup was legal. Enjoy your time in prison asshole.

... neither is the DOJ. They're getting closer and closer to the top.
Patience, people. The public televised hearings start in NINE days. Just over a week from now. Fasten your seatbelts.

Scary.

(9,670 posts)I've got a decade to plan the greatest crime spree of all time! Woo hoo!
It would be hilarious if it wasn't true...but it is possible...and maybe even probable...that Trump has already exonerated himself and knows that he will be long gone before it is ever determined in the courts whether a president can pardon himself.

(111,052 posts)The Minority Leader of the Republicans in the House?
Would he try to pull the same trick as Navarro?
It would indicate the degree of corruption that has enveloped the Republican Party.

(10,039 posts)He is closer to a Gym Jordon, wanting to see all the evidence against him, hahahaha, sorry it makes me laugh each and every time. If the committee refers them to the DOJ for indictment then I think he and others will fold. Navarro will end up meeting with the DOJ grand jury and he better be on his best behaviour because he is going to be up shit creek soon.
