a gun control proposal

Since the 2nd amendment says a well regulated militia require anyone owning a semi auto rifle or a magazine greater than 8 rounds to undergo 1 weekend a month of national guard type training. full physical training including long marches etc just like boot camp. .pay for the required training will be the same as you get for jury duty. failure to complete 12 weekend a year means you must surrender your weapon and ammo under penalty of 5 years in prison. physically unable to complete the training? then your unfit for the militia and therefore must surrender your rifles.
training to be required yearly until age 55

but assembling goons into an ad hoc militia is a recipe for cohorts and radicalization because they will view it as opportunity of a different kind

especially if its mostly physical fitness type training. long marches with full gear etc. NCO's screaming in your face. basically made it unpleasant enough that its not worth it to own an ar-15
