(33,120 posts)For you see, we were waiting in line and his self-centered impatience with a ten minute inconvenience prompted him to flit away or maybe the wisdom of not engaging with someone wearing rubber gloves and a mask who was half way prepared for gutting him like a fish occurred to him.
Rather unpleasant fellow.

(86,535 posts)I guess it's more like there are more tourists here and will be in great numbers until at least October. There's always tourist, but in between peak seasons, it's a little easier to avoid them.

(86,535 posts)A lot of rain so I don't know what was going on in town. Besides, I was out getting soaked while having the time of my life picking Morels. I never seem to fit in so I keep to myself, I'm happier that way.
I spend my summers dodging the public anymore, it's why I like to live outside of town where I have a yard or access to a forest rally close by. I wish I had fur so I could just stay in the woods.

(5,125 posts)I'm fairly hearty. Will probably get through whatever it is, but it hurts and I am so exhausted I can't think most of the time.
Sleeping sitting up so I don't flood my lungs, but it's an art I'm working to acquire.

(5,125 posts)My sister had it and survived. My maid of honor had it and survived, but she had to go to the hospital and has long term effects.
Right now it feels like a bad case of bronchitis. Not quite pneumonia. I have had both.
I am a contract employee. Every day I don't work is a day I don't get paid.
This sucks.
niyad
(113,259 posts)So far it's not as bad as when I had pneumonia one time.
Knock on wood. And they have the pill that will mitigate some of the effects.

(19,038 posts)At least here in the US.
The US response to Covid in 2020 and then the Republican undermining of Biden's and other Dem's efforts to mitigate the spread will forever be the greatest failure in our nation's history. 1 million dead could have easily been 200,000 if Trump had decided to let the experts guide his policies and messages on Covid. 1 person deciding masks and vaccines were going to be his wedge issue killed 800,000 Americans.

(33,120 posts)a week or so ago. She had eased up on her vigilance only a little and has been under quite a bit of stress for the last couple of months.
Evidentially, enough for the covis (as my elderly dad calls it) to get through.
She has been well above average in her precautions from day one.
Now that she's ambulatory, she's raided my mask and glove stockpile muttering, "Never again."
