Democratic Candidate Wears Noose In Ad
June 1, 2022 at 8:24 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Kentucky U.S. Senate candidate Charles Booker (D) stands with a noose around his neck in a new campaign ad criticizing his opponent, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), for holding up legislation in 2020 that would have made lynching a federal hate crime in America, the Louisville Courier Journal reports.

If they'd only called it an "anti-lawn-ching law" he might've vote in favor Bucky Jun 2022 #9

Sort of the reflexive feeling I get from Hollywood depictions of a noose being placed.

It is powerful, I will give him that and perhaps makes ME detest Paul even more. Whether or not it will do so for all the RW-leaning indies or the less extremist Republicans (if they exist in KY), is hard to say.

I hope the message sinks in to the voters of Kentucky. Time to throw out that vile POS Paul.

The Republicans and their voters are off the rails, so pussy-footing and tasteful decorum are not going to cut it. The GOP needs to be slammed in the face with reality and punished.

Booker used the symbol effectively. Hopefully the base of Democratic voters in Kentucky gets fired up and shows up to the polls.

... the question will be whether the number of redneck racists who think blacks should be lynched outweigh decent people.

And whether Kentucky is rigging their election infrastructure.

I can't express how afraid I am of these upcoming midterms, because Manchin and Sinema protected the filibuster rather than protected voting rights. And hundreds of statewide voting laws have been passed making it easier for republicans to outright steal elections. Scares me to death, because if they gain power they will never let go and we can't counter any of it. We can't pass laws if we're in the minority. They will entrench even further. The SCOTUS won't protect democracy.
